SHIPS BRING PILOTS ONBOARD

- and they do so for a reason.

It's not because the "ship-management" are bad seamen. Not at all in fact!

It's because they, (as the good seamen they are), know that it is RISKY to pass through unknown waters.

So they bring pilots onboard to benefit from the pilot's knowledge and experience.

THAT is the principle behind the entire concept of WaterproofingPILOT.com

Image

THE TRADITIONAL [WP] SPEC IS HIGH RISK

All waterproofing was specified - this means that all waterproofing ERRORS was specified too!

We help you "clean" traditional specifications BEFORE you even order products.

PRE-ASSESSMENT is FREE if your company is a STARTER member

NEVER SPECIFY WEAK SOLUTIONS AGAIN

Image

The good old way of specifying [WP] (you know, the one saying: Product like XYZ, applied following the manufacturer's guidelines) is at its best - insufficient.

Imagine if you, as a specifier, never had to specify that way again, but instead stood strong as the defender of the client's interests (and not the product's).

This can be done by making strong REQUIREMENT SPECIFICATIONS instead of weak product biased solutions.

And we have made a tool, that enables you to make the STRONGEST SPECIFICATION ever, in less than an hour.

Image

INTEGRATE THE [WP] AT AN EARLY STAGE

Image

90% of structural waterproofing [WP] is about the DETAILS/ "CCP"

The good news is, that the "CCP" only cover 10% of the structure - and it really pays off to get these 10% right in first attempt.

Having the "CCP" designed 1:1 to fit the project 1:1 is a very inexpensive way to save a lot of trouble, time, and money

Image

SOLUTIONS DESIGN: A LAST MINUTE TASK

Image

Waterproofing [WP] solutions are extremely sensitive to changes in the background conditions

This becomes a problem if the solutions are made BEFORE all factors are known and stable.

Thousands of times project conditions have changed, without adjustments being made to the solutions.

And THAT, is an expensive "Quality-killer".

Waterproofing Solutions should always be made as late in the process as possible, and should be based on STRONG Requirement profiles (made with the intent of serving the interests of the structure) and finally, the solution should be made by the contractor who eventually carry the [WP] liabilities - and NOT by product-suppliers!

These should be minimum requirements in any case where [WP] is required !

Image

CONTROL THE PROCESS

Image

Most often when waterproofing [WP] fails, it has to do with not being in control of the process.

Time schedules are tight in the construction industry, and when people realize that something has deviated, they sort of procastinate the problem, which when it comes to [WP] means, that the problem you end up having to fix, has become much larger.

That's why we urge you to have a strong focus on your process.

Image

IT ALL STARTS AND ENDS WITH QUALIFICATIONS

Image

Waterproofing [AEC] is not a subject in the education of [WP] students.

And that's a very poor starting point if you want to achieve well balanced [WP] results.

And all [WP] projects, without exceptions, has got their own QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS PROFILE.

Ignore that, and you increase the risk of failure.

The two main focus areas are:

  1. The structure's [OWA]
  2. and (the relevant) waterproofing in general

Combined they form the "1:1 Requirement profile"

Image

YOU NEED TO KNOW THE FLIPSIDES

Image

Great QC starts with strong QA (Quality Assurance).

When waterproofing [AEC] most people confuse these two topics.

Making a strong QC plan requires a deep insight into the weaknesses of [WP] - and that's where our 35 years in [WP] can benefit your project.

Image

MISS OUT ON THIS, AND YOU HAVE WASTED YOUR TIME

Image

Training hundreds of project teams has taught us that effective worker instructions are essential to the result - and that these instructions only rarely can be just text and drawings.

On all projects, the worker's (and the management's) understanding of the tasks and the endgoals, and what lies in between, is essential to the result.

And EASY ACCESS is the first CORNER-STONE!

Image

3D MODELS SHOW YOU WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF...

One of the most common reasons for failed waterproofing is that 2D drawings and product brochures has got a hard time revealing these little 1:1 details / "CCP" where water will bypass the barrier, and spread inside the structure - before it finally ends up as a huge repair-bill.

3D models makes it much easier to detect risks (and waste) - especially if you know what to look for.

WORDS ARE OBSOLETE - IMAGES ARE BETTER - BUT VIDEO IS BEST

Please allow us to approach the issue of failed waterproofing from a humorous angle.

But it illustrates in an excellent way how easy, even complexe matters can be explained by using videos.
